Bobby Platt is a mentally slow young man who escapes from a violent, hated stepmother who killed his pets one by one. To escape, Bobby escapes and meets a strange old man who wanders on the highways to bury animals from Road. Bobby becomes an apprentice of the old man and learns to see the world of nature in a strange idyllic manner. But soon the shadow of his stepmother is catching up with him and Bobby’s world bursts into a grotesque nightmare.
